This year, Linda remained in the third grade after her school was part of a national reassessment. She did not meet the requirements for promotion, which was disappointing for her. Still, she looked up with determination and said, “Oma, I will pass next year, I promise.” She is more motivated than ever to work hard and move forward. Linda is now 14 years old and continues to balance school with helping her family on the farm. Life is still demanding, but she has not given up. Her favorite subject is now science, and she enjoys learning how things work and exploring new ideas in class. Even with the responsibilities she carries at home, Linda remains grateful for the chance to attend school. She wants to say a big thank you to her sponsor for making it possible for her to continue her education and keep striving for a better future. Sponsored by: Laura Groenier

Linda was promoted to the third grade this year, and although she’s facing some challenges, she continues to work hard. Balancing school with farm work has been tough, but Linda is determined to keep going. Right after school, she runs to her family’s farm to help with the work, doing her part to support her household. Linda’s favorite subject in school is spelling, and she enjoys it immensely. She would love to be more active in school activities, but the demands of farm and household work don’t leave her with much time. Despite these responsibilities, Linda truly enjoys going to school. For her, it offers a brief respite from the hardships of everyday life and gives her the opportunity to focus on something different for a while. We are incredibly proud of Linda for her perseverance and dedication to her studies, even in the face of adversity. Her hardworking nature and love for learning are truly inspiring. Ten-year-old Linda is in first grade and lives in her aunt’s household. Linda’s father and mother could not afford to care for Linda and her three siblings. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She lives in the same town with her mother and father and visit them often. For this, she is thankful. She is also thankful for the gift of a scholarship because her aunt could not afford to send her to school. Sponsored by: Laura Groenier
