Kou was retained in pre-kindergarten. It is not clear what challenges led to her retainment, but one thing for sure is that little Kou deserves another chance. We are happy to walk alongside Kou in her efforts to stay in school and one day graduate. She still lives with her mother’s friend and wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Thanks to the generous donation from Lori Fischer Hall, Kou has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the K-1 grade this year and still wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She continues to live with her mother’s friend.

Meet Kou, who has been generously sponsored by Lori Fischer Hall. She is 6 years old and is going to school for the first time in ABC. She lives in Gbayden, Liberia with her mother’s friend. Kou’s mother passed away from malaria about a year ago. After her death, Kou’s mom’s friend took she and her sister in to take care for. Her interests are playing with her sister and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
