KATTINA: S1010-SAN

2025
This year, we were unable to meet with this student during school registration, as they were either out of town, sick, or facing circumstances that prevented them from attending. Even so, their school fees were paid, and all of their school materials were given to the school staff to ensure they receive everything as soon as they return.
Because the student was not present on registration day, we were unable to take an updated photo for 2025. Thank you for your understanding and continued support—it truly makes a difference in their life. Sponsored by: Tera Reese-Beisbier

Kattina is a bright and determined 10-year-old girl with a dream as big as her heart. Though she is only in the second grade, her passion for learning and her dedication to her family shine brightly. Kattina lives in a modest home with her single mother and five other family members. Life is not easy for them, but Kattina’s spirit remains unshaken. Her mother works tirelessly to support the family. Each morning, while Kattina is at school, her mother ventures into the forest to cut wood. She then spends the rest of the day selling the wood in the local market, earning just enough to keep the family going. When Kattina returns home from school, her responsibilities don’t end with her studies. She steps in to help her family by cooking meals, ensuring there’s food on the table when her mother comes home after a long, exhausting day. Despite these challenges, Kattina stays focused on her dream of becoming a police officer. She dreams of wearing a uniform, protecting her community, and making a difference. For Kattina, education is the path to achieving her goals, and she embraces every opportunity to learn. Kattina’s resilience and hope are an inspiration to everyone around her. She shows that even in difficult circumstances, dreams can thrive, and with determination, they can come true. Sponsored by: Veronica Sommers
