JOYLINE: S1059-FLO

Joyline is now 14 years old and has been promoted to the 1st grade this year. Her teacher describes her as an excellent student who is both hardworking and extremely helpful. In fact, Joyline often arrives at school earlier than her classmates to assist her teacher with setting up the classroom before lessons begin. Her favorite subject is reading, and she enjoys every opportunity to open a book and learn something new. After school, Joyline’s responsibilities continue. She walks to the nearby creek with the other children in her household to fetch water for cooking, bathing, and cleaning. Once they return home and the family has eaten, Joyline helps wash the dishes and tidy up before finally settling down to complete her homework. Her days are long and full of responsibility, yet she carries herself with determination and grace. Still living with her aunt and cousins, Joyline continues to hold tightly to her dream of becoming a nurse one day. Her caring heart, strong work ethic, and willingness to serve both at school and at home are beautiful signs of the bright future ahead of her.
