Joe has successfully advanced to the eighth grade, despite being 21 years old, bringing him closer to his goal of becoming an electrician in the future. His dedication to both his education and his family is evident as he works diligently in school and then at a mechanic shop after hours. In addition to gaining valuable skills and knowledge at the shop, Joe also contributes financially to support himself and his family.

Continuing to reside with his aunt, Joe remains a pillar of support in their household, actively assisting with household chores and responsibilities. His unwavering work ethic and commitment to his aspirations are commendable, reflecting his determination to build a brighter future for himself and those he cares about.

Joe’s favorite subject is math and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year.  He was promoted to seventh grade this year! His teacher reports he is a smart student who enjoys learning. He often asks questions and even asks for more school work sometimes. Thanks to the generous donation from Sandy Prestine, Joe has been re-enrolled into school for the 2019/2020 school year. 

We are pleased to announce that Joe was promoted to the 4th grade for the 2018/2019 school year! During our interview, Joe was all smiles and looked healthy. He shared with us that he wakes up early hours of the morning to get water for the family before getting ready to go to school. Access to water is limited in villages like Vehyipa. One has to walk to a nearby creek or flowing stream to fetch water in a bucket and head tote it back to their house. Sandy Prestine, thank you for your sponsorship and for giving your student a gift of education.
