Janet was promoted to Kindergarten-2! She was quite confident during our update session. It is a joy to see her grow and develop. She was sharp in listening and responding to questions. Thanks to the generous donation from Joyce Jorgensen, Janet has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Janet was kept in her current grade level of K-1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be a president when she grows up.

Meet Janet, who has been generously sponsored by Joyce Jorgensen on behalf of the estate of Dennis Valstad. She is 7 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Sehyi Geh, Liberia with her mother. Her father died in a tragic hunting accident when he got shot by another hunter. He mother depends on farming to feed her children. Her interests are playing with friends and she hopes to be a president when she grows up.
