Thanks to the generous donation from Campbell White, Godgive has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Godgive was kept in her current grade level of 2nd grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her grandmother and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

We are pleased to announce that Godgive was promoted to the 1st grade for the 2018/2019 school year. She still wants to be a doctor when she grows up. With less than 500 doctors serving a population of 4.5 million people, Liberian households often experience fatalities due to treatable illnesses. Children aspiring to become doctors is a worthy cause. Ellen Carrol Huntington, thank you for your sponsorship and giving your student a gift of education through Girl Power Africa.

Meet Godgive, who has been generously sponsored by Ellen Carrol Huntington. She is 9 years old and in kindergarten-2 this year. Godgive lives in Seclepea , Liberia with her grandmother. Both of Godgive’s parents died from the Ebola virus in 2014 when the virus hit their household. She and her 2 siblings are being raised by their unemployed grandmother who cannot afford to support them or send them to school on a regular basis. Her interests are helping her grandmother and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.
