COMFORT: S279-SOP

September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Scott Heise, Comfort has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year.  Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Comfort was kept in her current grade level of 3rd grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her aunt and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

September 2020: Thanks to the generous donation from Scott Heise, Comfort has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. She has moved to Sanniquellie. She is in the 3rd grade this year and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She continues to live with her aunt. (Comfort was out of town on the day of the 2020-2021 school distribution. Her materials were left with the school authorities).

October 2019: Thanks to the generous donation from Scott Heise, Comfort has been re-enrolled into school for the 2019-2020 school year.

June 2019: We are pleased to announce that Comfort was promoted to the 2nd grade for the 2018-2019 school year. Bob & Julie, thank you for your sponsorship and giving your student a gift of education through Girl Power Africa.

2018:  Meet Comfort, who has been generously sponsored by Julie Lyons-Speropulos and Bob Speropulos. She is a 9 years old orphan and in the 1st grade this year. Comfort lives in Sopea, Liberia with her aunt. Both of Comfort’s parents died from the Ebola virus when the virus hit the house that they lived in. Lucky for Comfort, her aunt took her and helped her to stay away from her parents to protect her from contacting the deadly virus. Comfort hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
