2023
Blessing has been promoted to the second grade at the age of nine, growing increasingly confident with each passing year. She excels in her studies and receives strong support from her teacher, older sister, siblings, and community. Blessing continues to live with her sister and harbors aspirations of becoming a businesswoman. Her motivation stems from her desire to generate income to care for her family and to repay her older sister for the unwavering support she has provided to Blessing and her siblings. Eight-year-old Blessing was promoted to 1st grade! Her favorite subject is writing. It’s been a rough journey for Blessing’s family but her sister was very thankful to her sponsor for playing a parental role in the life of Blessing by supporting her educational journey. It sometimes takes a “global” village to raise a child. She still lives with her sister and wants to be a business woman one day. Sponsored by: Alyssa Tesar

Meet Blessing, who has been generously sponsored by Alyssa Tesar. She is a 5-year-old orphan and is going to school for the first time this year, in ABC. Blessing lives in Sanniquellie, Liberia with her sister. Blessing is from a family of six and they lost both of their parents four years ago in a tragic car accident. Their older sister, who was 16 years old at the time, took over the responsibility of raising her siblings and she simply cannot afford to send them to school. The sister told our GPA team, “We don’t even eat every day. So, where will I find money to send them to school?” Blessing’s interests are helping her sister and she hopes to be a business woman when she grows up to help support her family.
