ABIGAL: S690-ZOR

Our future pastor, Abigal, did not have a successful school year. She was retained in kindergarten-2 class. Abigal’s teachers point to her shyness as one of the barriers of a successful academic performance. Regrettably, Liberia’s schools are overcrowded. Elementary teachers often cater to a class of 60 students with no teacher aide to assist. This situation hampers even the most well-intentioned teachers to go the extra mile to encourage and support students like Abigal. GPA team encouraged the teacher to seek out Abigal’s mother to discuss ways she can encourage and support her. Sponsored by: Donations from General Funds

Meet Abigal, who has been generously sponsored by an Anonymous donor (Mohamad). She is 6 years old and is in the Kindergarten-1 grade this year. She lives in Zorgowee, Liberia with her mother. She lives with her mother and has never known her father. He denied the pregnancy and moved to another town with another woman. Her interests are helping draw water from the creek and cooking. She hopes to be a pastor when she grows up.
