SUPRISE: S1090-GBA

Surprise is now 17 years old and has been promoted to the 4th grade this year. After the many challenges she has faced, this promotion is a meaningful achievement, and we are proud of her steady progress. When we asked her favorite subject, she smiled shyly and said, “All of them.” Her teacher describes her as a very smart girl who understands her lessons well, though she can be a little quiet in class. Even with her shy nature, her intelligence and dedication stand out. Surprise continues to live with her aunt, who does her best to provide for the family. After school, Surprise goes home, heads to the market to buy food, and then returns to cook for the family before they eat their evening meal. Despite these daily responsibilities, she remains focused on her education. Her dream of becoming a nurse is still alive, fueled by her desire to help others. Surprise’s resilience, quiet strength, and determination continue to inspire us. We are grateful she has the opportunity to remain in school and move closer to her goals.

Surprise is 16 years old and is in the third grade. She dreams of becoming a nurse one day, driven by a strong desire to help others. Surprise’s mother passed away when she was young, and her father, along with his new wife, lives in Guinea, leaving Surprise to be raised by her aunt. Her aunt has four children of her own and, unfortunately, struggles to make ends meet. As a result, Surprise is unable to attend school regularly.
