Otis: S857-KPA

Otis is repeating the third grade this year after struggling to keep up with his schoolwork last year. His teachers noted that he had too much work at home, which made it difficult for him to focus on his studies. However, they are committed to helping him succeed this year and have high hopes for his progress. Otis, who still dreams of becoming a pilot, lives with his grandmother and has promised to work harder and do better in school. Otis has been promoted to the third grade! He continues to live with his grandmother and still dreams of becoming a pilot one day. Otis shared that despite never having been to an airport or on an airplane, he loves waving at airplanes when they fly over his village. Eight-year-old Otis is in second grade.  He wants to be a pilot one day.  Otis was abandoned by his parents two years ago and he is living with his grandmother.  The reasons why his parents abandoned him is not known but GPA is committed to walk alongside him in his educational journey.  His grandmother could not afford to send Otis to school as she does subsistence farming and can barely provide a meal a day for her ten-member household.  Otis and his grandmother are thankful for the gift of a scholarship.
