Marie was promoted to second grade and still dreams of becoming a lawyer one day.  During GPA distributions she was in tears with gratitude for the scholarship and the opportunity to attend school. Twelve-year-old Marie is in third grade and lives with her mother and five siblings.  She wants to be a lawyer when she grows up.  Marie loves cooking and she cooks daily for their household.  Marie’s mother comes from the farming activities late in the evening. She depends upon Marie to come home from school and make the evening meal for the family.  Normally, that evening meal is the only complete meal the family has for that day.  Marie takes pride in her ability to help her mother out.
