Sustaining enrollment in school is a tricky venture for many Liberian families. With very limited or no savings, a family might not have the means to enroll their child/children for the next semester IF someone becomes ill and requires medical treatment (for example). Seven-year-old Kou lives with her uncle in his extended family household in Suakazue, Nimba County and is thankful for a scholarship to help her enroll in second grade. First grade was paid for by her uncle, but due to family related setbacks he was unable to sustain Kou’s enrollment this school year. Thank God, with the support of GPA’s amazing sponsors, Kou’s present and future enrollments will be sustained, which will be one less thing for her uncle to worry about. Kou’s uncle extends his thanks and appreciation. Sponsored by: Dillion O’Donnell
