Comfort successfully completed the school year and was promoted to the next grade. Her teacher noted that she is doing well and has shown positive effort in her studies. Comfort shared that she feels happy and motivated to be back in school, with her mother serving as her main source of encouragement. With Girl Power Africa’s continued support providing school fees and materials, Comfort remains focused on her goal of continuing her education and working hard in the year ahead.

Comfort was promoted to the second grade this year, and she continues to live with her mother. She says her favorite class is writing, and her teachers describe her as a very hardworking and smart student. Comfort is dedicated to her studies, always giving her best effort in class. After school, Comfort heads home where she helps her mother with daily tasks. One of her responsibilities is going to the creek to draw about 10 gallons of water for the family to use throughout the day. Despite her many chores, Comfort remains focused on her education and is determined to succeed. Her teachers are very proud of her, and so are we. Comfort is a strong and dedicated student, and we are confident that she will continue to excel both in school and at home. Sponsored by: Janice O’Brien

Nine-year-old Comfort resides with her mother and three siblings.  Her father passed away in 2015 and Comfort’s mom embarked on subsistence farming to care for her family.  Comfort wants to be a teacher one day.  She is in kindergarten class, and she enjoys counting and writing numbers.
