Kou is a 49-year-old widowed mother of 4 children who lives in Sannequillie, Liberia and has never been to school. Kou’s husband died during the Ebola epidemic. Kou said although her husband did not die from the Ebola virus, his death was treated as an Ebola case. Therefore, she was not allowed to see his body and does not know where he was buried. She told us that all 4 of her children (ages 19, 15, 10 and 6) are not in school this year.  Thanks to the generous donation from Katrina Daahen Vainisi, Kou will be selling in the local market to help support her family.
