Hanah’s father died when she about 2 months old. Her mom died when she was 4 years old. Hanah’s father’s sister (her aunt) took her and raised her. The aunt had 8 children of her own and never had the funds to send any of the children to school. At the age of 10, her uncle took her with the intention of sending her to school. But he lost his job and was unable to send her to school as intended. By the age of 19, she had saved 1,500LD/ $17 USD. She moved out on her own and started her own business. She would bake cookies and walk thru the varies neighborhoods selling them in a bucket on her head. The business was doing very well until 4 months ago when the aunt whom had raised her from the age of 4-10 was seriously sick. She took her entire savings of 2,500LD/$27 USD to take the aunt to the hospital for treatment. Her aunt’s life was saved because of her generosity. But now, she has to start all over. These are photos of Hanah receiving her new supply of selling goods to now be able to successfully start her very own business.
