October 2019: Thanks to the generous donation from Luann Erfurth Smith, Princess has been re-enrolled into school for the 2019-2020 school year.  Please note:  Princess was unable to attend the back to school distribution as she was in the “society bush” for FGM.  However, her school materials were left with the school to be given to her upon her return.  

June 2019: We are pleased to announce that Princess was promoted to the 1st grade for the 2018-2019 school year. Luann, thank you for your sponsorship and giving your student a gift of education through Girl Power Africa. 

2018:  Meet Princess, who has been generously sponsored by Luann Smith. She is 11 years old and in the kindergarten2 this year. She lives in Gbobayee, Liberia with her father. Princess’s mother left the husband with their 4 children and moved to another village with her new boyfriend. The father, who is unemployed and struggling to support his family, has not been able to afford to send Princess and her 3 siblings to school. She hopes to be a tailor when she grows up.
