Thanks to the generous donation from Pam Albi, Yah has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Yah was kept in her current grade level of K-2 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her grandmother and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

Meet Yah who has been generously sponsored by Jolene and Joe Ibeling. She is 8 years old and very shy. This is her first time in school, in ABC. She lives in Barpa, Liberia with her grandmother. Yah’s mother had her at the age of 15 and could not afford to support a young baby. She was given to her grandmother who is unable to send Yah to school. Yah dreams of going to school to become a medical doctor when she grows up to help her grandma and people in her village.
