Vackie is promoted to second grade. She still resides with her aunt and enjoys reading. Reading is also her favorite subject. Vackie still wants to be a seamstress one day and she is excited with the opportunity to return to school. Sponsored by: Lori Fischer Hall
Thanks to the generous donation from Lori Fischer Hall, Vackie has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Vackie was kept in her current grade level of 1st grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her aunt and still wants to be a seamstress when she grows up.
Meet Vackie, who has been generously sponsored by Lori Fischer Hall. She is 8 years old and is in the 1st grade this year. She lives in Gbeleyee Town, Liberia with her aunt. Her father passed away during the Ebola crisis and is believed to have died from Ebola. Her interests are playing with friends, and she hopes to be a seamstress when she grows up.
