Thanks to the generous donation from Joyce Jorgensen, Serena has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the K-2 grade this year and still wants to be a mechanic when she grows up. She continues to live with her mother.

Meet Serena, who has been generously sponsored by Joyce Jorgensen on behalf of the estate of Dennis Valstad. She is 10 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Sehyi Geh, Liberia with her mother. She was born in Guinea and her father had three wives. Because of the second wife, the father drove Serena and her mother out of the home and they came to Liberia. Her interests are fixing broken cars. She actually goes to mechanic shops and helps hand tools to the mechanics as they are repairing cars.  She hopes to be a mechanic when she grows up.
