Sam was promoted to the 1st grade! He has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year. Sam’s favorite subject is math. During his interview update he was all smiles and spoke confidently. It’s always so sweet to see the growth in our students. Thanks to the generous donation from Phil Vasby, Sam has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Sam was kept in his current grade level of K-2 grade for the upcoming school year. He continues to live with his grandmother and still wants to be a police officer when he grows up.

Thanks to the generous donation from Phil Vasby, Sam has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. He did not complete his last year due to a sickness and is still in the K-2 grade this year. He still wants to be a police officer when he grows up. He continues to live with his grandmother.

Meet Sam Garmia, who has been generously sponsored by Rebecca Toubot. He is 6 years old and is going to school for the first time this year in ABC. He lives in Beagonpa, Liberia with his grandmother. Sam’s father passed away a few years ago. His mother is also sick. He’s living with his grandmother who could not afford to send him to school. His interests are helping his grandmother and he hopes to be a police officer when he grows up.
