Thanks to the generous donation from Judy Reed, Princess has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the 4th grade this year and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up. With less than 500 doctors serving a population of 4.5 million people, Liberian households often experience fatalities due to treatable illnesses. Children aspiring to become doctors is a worthy cause. Princess continues to live with her aunt.

Meet Princess, who has been generously sponsored by Eeyore. She is 9 years old and in the 1st grade this year. She lives in Gbobayee, Liberia with her aunt. After the death of Princess’ father 3 years ago, her mother abandoned Princess and her sister and left town. The mother has not been heard from since. Oftentimes, in Liberia, when young parents are emotionally and/or financially unable to address the care of a child the family members are saddled with the responsibility of raising the child. Such is Princess’ case. Her aunt thanked GPA for playing a parental role in the life of Princess by supporting her educational journey. It sometimes takes a “global” village to raise a child. Princess hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.
