Our future businesswoman, twelve-year-old Panna, is thankful for another opportunity to attend school this year! She is in kindergarten-2 and still living with her mother. When not in school, Panna helps her mother sell items in the market to support their family. Panna is learning first-hand how marketing can allow a family to subsist. Her dream to become a businesswoman coupled with the support of GPA’s amazing sponsor network, Panna’s future business market will move her family from subsistence to profit making. Thanks to the generous donation from Corynn Hanson, Panna has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Panna was kept in her current grade level of K-1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be a businesswoman when she grows up.

Meet Panna, who has been generously sponsored by Corynn Hanson. She is 10 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Boapea, Liberia with her mother. Her father died from yellow fever and her mother is very poor and finds it hard to feed her family. Her interests are selling her market and she hopes to be a business woman when she grows up.
