Othello is a 9-year-old boy in Kindergarten-1, navigating life with resilience and hope despite facing significant challenges. Two years ago, tragedy struck his family when his father was killed in a devastating accident. While working on his farm, a tree he was cutting fell on him, taking his life instantly. Following this loss, Othello, along with his two siblings, was taken in by their grandmother. His grandmother, though loving and nurturing, is unemployed and struggles to provide for the children’s basic needs. This has made it difficult for Othello and his siblings to attend school regularly. Yet, Othello remains determined and hopeful about his future. Othello dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up. He envisions a life of service and protection, inspired by the role of law enforcement in helping others. Despite his current circumstances, he is eager to learn and looks forward to every opportunity to attend school, seeing education as a pathway to achieving his dream. With his determination and a little support, Othello has the potential to overcome his challenges and make his dream of becoming a police officer a reality. Sponsored by: Kathryn O’Rourke
