Onerst is now 15 years old and has been promoted to the third grade. He shared that reading is his favorite subject, and he enjoys practicing to improve his skills. Onerst also spoke honestly about how he feels being older than many of his classmates. He said he sometimes feels behind his friends and is determined to do everything possible to catch up. This motivation pushes him to work even harder in school. Onerst continues to live with his aunt, who cares for him along with her own children, despite very limited resources. Life remains difficult, but his hope for a better future has not faded. He still holds onto his dream of becoming a pastor one day so he can guide and support others in his community. Even in poverty and hardship, Onerst’s determination to keep learning and move forward shows his strength and resilience. Sponsored by: Judy Reed

Onerst is 14 years old and currently in the second grade. Tragically, both of his parents passed away from the Ebola virus, leaving him in the care of his aunt. Although she welcomed him into her home, his aunt already has five children of her own and has faced significant challenges in providing for all of them. Sending Honest to school regularly has been a struggle, but he remains hopeful about his future. Onerst dreams of becoming a pastor when he grows up, inspired by his faith and desire to help others in his community. Sponsored by: Judy Reed
