Melvina was promoted to the third grade this year, and her teachers continue to praise her for being a diligent and hardworking student. She loves English and math, and her strong performance in these subjects reflects her dedication to her studies. Although she is shy and quiet in class, she never disrupts and always completes her homework and schoolwork on time. At home, Melvina takes on significant responsibilities. After school, she helps her family by drawing water from the creek, as well as assisting with cooking and doing the dishes. Despite her busy schedule, she remains committed to her education and is consistently punctual in arriving at school each day. Melvina is not only an intelligent student, but also a beautiful person inside and out. Her quiet strength, work ethic, and positive attitude make her a joy to have in the classroom, and we are proud to see how she continues to thrive both academically and at home. Melvina lives in Flowin, Liberia with her mother and one sibling.  Melvina is ten years old and in first grade.  Her father abandoned his family several years ago and her mother does subsistence farming to provide for her family.  The farming income/produce is barely enough to provide one meal a day leaving the mother unable to support other necessities like medical care and schooling.  Thanks to GPA partner network for supporting Melvina’s dream of becoming a doctor one day and her educational goals.
