Melvina is now 14 years old and was promoted to the fourth grade this year. She continues to perform very well in school, and her teacher describes her as a strong student who not only understands her lessons but is also willing to help others. Melvina often assists her classmates when they need help and even supports her teacher when needed, showing both leadership and kindness in the classroom. This year, Melvina shared that her favorite subject is Religious Studies. She enjoys learning about faith, values, and character, and her thoughtful nature shines through in her participation. Though she remains naturally quiet and humble, her confidence continues to grow. At home, Melvina still carries important responsibilities. After school, she helps her family by drawing water from the creek, cooking, and washing dishes. Despite her busy routine, she remains punctual and committed to her education. Melvina’s gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and willingness to serve others make her a special presence both at school and at home. We are proud of the young lady she is becoming.

Melvina lives in Flowin, Liberia with her mother and one sibling.  Melvina is ten years old and in first grade.  Her father abandoned his family several years ago and her mother does subsistence farming to provide for her family.  The farming income/produce is barely enough to provide one meal a day leaving the mother unable to support other necessities like medical care and schooling.  Thanks to GPA partner network for supporting Melvina’s dream of becoming a doctor one day and her educational goals.
