Matthew brought wonderful news this year, running off the pickup with his report card in his hand, excitedly saying, “I passed, I passed, I passed!” He proudly shared that he was promoted to the second grade, keeping the promise he made to work harder and take his education seriously. His joy and enthusiasm showed just how much this achievement means to him. Last year brought many challenges for Matthew, especially with difficulties in his parents’ relationship that affected his focus and support at home. Now, with a renewed mindset and determination, he has shown real growth and commitment to his studies. Passing this year is a big milestone that reflects his effort and perseverance. Matthew is deeply grateful for the opportunity to go to school, and this success has given him even more confidence to keep trying his best. His excitement and pride remind everyone how much support and encouragement can make a difference in a child’s life. Sponsored by: Sarah Mani

Mathew faced challenges this year and was unable to pass the first grade. Ongoing problems in his parents’ relationship have disrupted his focus, and neither parent has been actively supporting his education. Now living with his mother and stepfather, Mathew has expressed a desire to take school more seriously moving forward. Despite these difficulties, he often finds himself thinking about his father and longing for a stronger connection. Sponsored by: Sarah Mani

Little Matthew is a quiet and shy student who possessed a good classroom performance record last school year. Matthew was always ready and willing to learn and was promoted to the kindergarten-2 class. Our future farmer is well on his way to success. Sponsored by: Sarah Mani

Thanks to the generous donation from Sarah Mani, Matthew has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Matthew was kept in his current grade level of K-1 grade for the upcoming school year. He continues to live with his grandmother and still wants to be a farmer when he grows up.

Meet Matthew, who has been generously sponsored by an Anonymous donor (Mohamad). He is 9 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. He lives in Kialay, Liberia with his grandmother. His mother abandoned him and his father shortly after his birth. His father recently died, this year, from some unknown sickness that caused his feet and legs to swell. His interests are producing more food and he hopes to be a farmer when he grows up.
