MARTHALINE: S663-SOP

September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Joyce Jorgensen, Marthaline has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year.  Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Marthaline was kept in her current grade level of K1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be an agriculturist when she grows up.

September 2020: Meet Marthaline, who has been generously sponsored by Joyce Jorgensen on behalf of the estate of Dennis Valstad. She is 7 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Sopea, Liberia with her mother and her 5 brothers and sisters. Her father died when a tree fell on him and killed him instantly while returning home from the farm.  Her interests are planting food and she hopes to be an agriculturist when she grows up.
