Lorina has been promoted to sixth grade and still finds joy in singing with the school choir. She continues to live with her mother and remains steadfast in her aspiration to become a nurse. At 15 years old, she excels in math class, her strongest subject. Thanks to the generous donation from D’Anna Freiberg, Lorena has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the 4thgrade this year and she wears her school uniform with pride! In many of the families GPA supports, the school uniform is the only new item of clothing the child has as families are unable to purchase new clothes but rely upon used clothing from the local market. During our interview she was very grateful for this opportunity. She still wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She continues to live with her mother.

Meet Lorena, who has been generously sponsored by Dick and D’Anna Freiberg. She is 10 years old and in the 1st grade this year. Lorena lives in Sopea Town, Liberia with her mother. Her father is unemployed, has 4 wives, and 16 children. The family cannot afford to send Lorena and her siblings to school on a regular basis. Her interests are playing with her siblings, and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
