Linda was promoted to the second grade this year, and her favorite subject is social studies. Despite the challenges she faces at home, Linda continues to excel in her lessons. She has been moved from one family to another every six months, never having a stable living situation. Her life has been filled with uncertainty as she switches from one place to the next, but Linda remains determined and dedicated to her education. Even though her life may be in shambles, Linda has developed a remarkable resilience. She adapts to every new environment and school she finds herself in, always doing her best in her studies. Her hardworking nature and ability to go with the flow, despite her difficult circumstances, are qualities that make her stand out as a strong and dedicated student. We are proud of Linda for her perseverance and the effort she puts into her education. Sponsored by: Jessica Reed

Linda’s home circumstances were very challenging and there appears to be some learning challenges as well. Regrettably, she was actually demoted from first grade back to kindergarten 2. Unfortunately, in Liberia, there is no special education program for children like Linda. One can only hope that given the right support from family and teachers; Linda will have a better school year. She continues to live with her grandmother and dreams of being a businesswoman one day. Thanks to the generous donation from Jessica Reed, Linda has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedules. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Linda was kept in her current grade level of 1st grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her grandmother and still wants to be a businesswoman when she grows up.
