Jessica is 15 years old and continues to show resilience despite facing significant challenges this school year. Unfortunately, she was unable to complete the school year after being sick for about a month and a half, which caused her to miss a large portion of classes. As a result, Jessica did not pass this year. Even so, Jessica remains hopeful and determined. She shared that she is committed to trying her very best in the coming school year and is aiming for a double promotion so she can catch up with her friends. Her determination reflects her strong character and desire to succeed despite setbacks. Jessica’s life has been shaped by hardship from a young age. She lost her mother when she was just 5 years old, and her father is a small local farmer who has struggled to afford school for Jessica and her three siblings. In addition to attending school, Jessica carries significant responsibilities at home. She shared that she cooks for her family, often going to the market after school to buy food before returning home to prepare meals. Despite these challenges, Jessica is grateful for the opportunity to be sponsored after spending four years on the Girl Power Africa waiting list. She continues to dream of becoming a soldier one day, motivated by a desire to be strong, disciplined, and to serve others. With continued support and her renewed commitment, Jessica is determined to overcome this setback and work toward a brighter future.
