Our upcoming female teacher, Evelyn, is still a kindergarten-2 student! She was retained in the kindergarten-2 class. Evelyn is a shy and quiet girl with a welcoming classroom participation record. There is a need for Evelyn to improve her studies in order to fulfill her dream. We encouraged her during our visit. At eleven years of age, Evelyn is determined to make a double promotion this year to help her catch up with her age-appropriate grade level. Sponsored by: Phil Vasby

Thanks to the generous donation from Phil Vasby, Evelyn has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Evelyn was kept in her current grade level of K-2 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her grandmother and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

Meet Evelyn, who has been generously sponsored by an Anonymous donor (Mohamad). She is 9 years old and is in the K-2 grade this year. She lives in Kialay, Liberia with her grandfather. Her mother abandoned her and her father shortly after her birth. Her father died in 2016 of tuberculosis. Her interests are properly educating her people and she hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
