Meet Evelyn, who has been generously sponsored by Lori Kong. She is 13 years old and, in the 2nd grade this year. She lives in Barpa, Liberia with her mother who is a petty farmer with very limited income to support she and her 7 children. Evelyn and her sibling go to school on a rotational basis (with priority being given to the boys). The boys go to the school one year and then Evelyn and her sisters go the following year. This year was Evelyn’s turn to stay home. But she really wanted to go to school, so she came to Girl Power for assistance to please help her to go to school. Evelyn hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
