Esther arrived at this year’s distribution full of excitement and pride. With her report card held tightly in her hand, she jumped off the pickup truck shouting, “I passed! I passed! I passed!” Her joy was contagious. Esther has been promoted to the third grade, and she could not have been happier. Math is now her favorite subject, and she is proud of how well she is doing in school. Despite the challenges she has faced, Esther continues to show determination and a strong desire to learn. After her mother fell ill, Esther began living with her aunt, where she helps with household responsibilities while keeping up with her studies. Even with these added duties, she remains focused on her education and deeply grateful for the opportunity to attend school. Esther’s bright smile, excitement about learning, and perseverance through difficulties show just how much this opportunity means to her. She is growing in confidence each year and continues moving closer to her dreams.

Eleven-year Esther was born in Kialay, Liberia and is eleven years old. Esther lives with her parents and is attending Kialay Public School. She is one in a family of five children (four children are in school). Esther helps her mom with housework while she’s out of school and she want to be a medical doctor when she grows up. Esther’s parents are subsistence farmers with low income and sometime find it difficult to support the children’s education expenses. Thanks to GPAs amazing partner network for supporting Esther and her family. She loves playing kickball and is the assistant kickball captain in her community. Sponsored by: Kimberly O’Donnell
