Eric was promoted to 9th grade and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year! He still wants to be a construction engineer one day and is now living with his grandmother. Oftentimes, in Liberia, when parents are emotionally or financially unable to address the care of a child the grandparent(s) or family members are saddled with the responsibility of raising the child. Such is Eric’s case. His grandmother thanked GPA for playing a parental role in the life of Eric by supporting his educational journey. It sometimes takes a “global” village to raise a child. Meet Eric, who has been generously sponsored by Tracy Holland. He is 16 years old and is in the 8th grade this year. He lives in Sanniquellie, Liberia with his sister. Both of Eric’s parents are unemployed and couldn’t afford to send him to school. Eric was given to his sister with the hopes of sending him to school. Unfortunately, the sister too is unemployed and has not been able to afford to send him to school on a regular basis. Eric hopes to be a construction engineer.
