Over the past school year, Eli successfully completed 1st grade and advanced to 2nd grade after passing his exams, with spelling and reading noted as his favorite subjects. His teachers reported strong performance in class, highlighting steady improvement throughout the year. With support from Girl Power Africa covering his school fees and enabling his continued attendance, Eli shared that he felt happy and grateful to remain in school. Motivated by both GPA and his family, he expressed a goal of improving his lessons and advancing to the next grade as he continues his education. Sponsored by: Beth Tetzlaff

Eli’s mother was sick for most of last year, and because of this, Eli had to be taken out of school to care for her in a faraway village where she was being treated. As a result, he missed a lot of school and didn’t complete his lessons, which led to him failing. Due to his absence, the school decided to set him back one grade level, and he is now back in Kindergarten-2. Eli has promised to work harder and do better this coming year. He is determined to catch up and succeed in school Sponsored by: Beth Tetzlaff

Eli has been promoted to the first grade and continues to live with his uncle.  He still dreams of becoming a doctor one day. Eli said “I want to be a doctor so people don’t have to get sick or die”.  Sponsored by: Beth Tetzlaff

Six-year-old Eli lives with his uncle and is in the kindergarten class.  His parents abandoned him for reasons not shared with us.  Eli wants to be a medical doctor one day and enjoys playing football (soccer).  Thirteen extended and immediate family members lives in his uncle’s household.  His uncle does subsistence farming and finds it challenging to provide a daily meal.  Three of the school age children living in his household are not in school.  He is thankful for the scholarship opportunity for Eli.
