DANIEL: S918-SAN

Daniel is now 19 years old and has been promoted to the 9th grade this year. He continues to excel in school, with math remaining his favorite subject. His love for numbers and problem-solving truly shines in the classroom, and his teachers describe him as a focused and dedicated student. Daniel remains deeply grateful for the support of Girl Power Africa, which has made it possible for him to stay in school. Knowing that his parents could not afford his school fees, he does not take this opportunity lightly. He continues to work hard and stay engaged in his lessons, determined to make the most of every chance he has been given. After school, Daniel goes to work on other people’s farms in his community. For his hard labor, he earns five or ten cents at a time—just enough to buy what students in Liberia call “recess,” small snacks that help carry them through the school day. His willingness to work so diligently for even the smallest amount shows his strong character, independence, and determination. Daniel’s commitment to both his education and supporting himself is truly admirable. We are proud of his perseverance and look forward to seeing him continue to grow and succeed. Daniel has advanced to the eighth grade, excelling in both English and math—his two highest-scoring subjects—and expressing a particular fondness for math. He is highly engaged in class, serves as the class secretary, and is grateful for Girl Power Africa’s support in covering his school fees, as his parents could not afford them. Having moved closer to the school to live with his older sister, Daniel is excited about the opportunities his education will bring and looks forward to a bright future. Sponsored by: Scott Heise

Seventeen-year-old Daniel is in seventh grade and dreams of becoming a nurse one day. He lives with his older sister and her family. His subsistence farming parents could not afford to send Daniel to school and sent him to live with their older daughter and her family. Daniel does odd jobs in town but could not earn enough money to sustain his educational journey. He is thankful for this scholarship opportunity. Sponsored by: Scott Heise
