COMFORT: S545-SEH
September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Joyce Jorgensen, Comfort has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Comfort was kept in her current grade level of K1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her parents and still wants to be an agriculturalist when she grows up.
September 2020: Meet Comfort, who has been generously sponsored by Joyce Jorgensen on behalf of the estate of Dennis Valstad. She is 7 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Sehyi Geh, Liberia with both of her parents. Comfort’s parents are petite farmers. However, the birds destroyed their rice farm last year and were unable to yield a lot of rice from the farm. This year, life has been extremely difficult for the family. Her interests are producing good food and she hopes to be an agriculturalist when she grows up.
