Christon: S889-DUA

Christon faced challenges this year and was unable to pass his second-grade class. The primary reason for his struggle is the lack of time to study, as the uncle he lives with requires him to do excessive work and labor. Christon spends long hours selling in the streets and often comes home late, leaving him with little to no time for his homework or studies. To address this, Girl Power Africa reached out to his uncle, requesting that he allow Christon the necessary time to focus on his education. The school principal is now closely monitoring the situation to ensure Christon has the opportunity to succeed in his studies. Christon is a hardworking and determined young boy who deserves a chance to thrive, and we remain hopeful that he will overcome these challenges and continue his education. Christon, who continues to live with his uncle, has been promoted to the second grade! He still dreams of becoming a doctor one day. During his free time, he spends a lot of time helping out with household chores at home. Sponsored by: Scott Heise

Eight-year-old Christon lives with his uncle and other extended family members in Duazon, Liberia.  He attends Duazon Public School and hopes to be a doctor one day.  He is in first grade and loves helping out with household chores. He went to live with his uncle because his mother could not afford to send him to school.  When his uncle realized he could no longer sustain Christon’s education,  he reached out to GPA.  We look forward to helping Christon reach his educational goals and his professional hopes and dreams.
