Cecelia was promoted to the 5th grade and has been re-enrolled in school for the 2022/2023 school year. She was promoted to the 5th grade this year and still wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Nurses and health care workers in general are sorely needed in Liberia where access to medical care is challenged by a limited number of health facilities and workers. Meet Cecelia, who has been generously sponsored by Phil Vasby. She is 10 years old and in the 3rd grade this year. She lives in Gbobayee, Liberia with her mother. Cecelia’s father died in a car accident about 2 years ago. Sadly, her older brother who used to help Cecelia with her educational needs passed away several months ago, unexpectedly. Her unemployed, widowed mother is finding it difficult to support her family. Cecelia and her mother are extremely grateful for this gift of education. Cecelia’s interests are helping her mom and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
