CECELIA: S499-NEW

2025
Cecelia is currently repeating Grade 3 and is working hard to improve her academic performance. Mathematics is her favorite subject, though her teacher shared that she needs additional study time to strengthen her lessons. Cecelia is grateful for GPA’s support with school fees and supplies, which allows her to remain in school. Despite family challenges, she is determined to study harder this year and earn promotion to the next grade. Sponsored by: Joyce Jorgensen
Note to Sponsor:
This year in Liberia, many public schools conducted a reassessment of students. Based on the results, some children—including your sponsored student—were placed in a lower grade or asked to repeat a grade to better match their current learning level. This adjustment is not due to any wrongdoing or lack of effort—it is simply to ensure they are in the grade where they can learn, grow, and succeed with confidence. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Meet Cecelia, who has been generously sponsored by Brittany Meyers. She is 9 years old and is in the K-2 grade this year. She lives in New Yekepa Town, Liberia with her father. Her mother abandoned her and her seven brothers and sisters to go marry another man in Guinea. Her interests are to play with her sisters and she hopes to be a seamstress when she grows up.
