Catherine was promoted to the 1st grade and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year. Her favorite subject is writing and reading. Thanks to the generous donation from Sandy Prestine, Catherine has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Catherine was kept in her current grade level of K-2 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

Thanks to the generous donation from Sandy Prestine, Catherine has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. She did not complete her last year and received a warning. During her interview, we spoke with her mother on the importance of an education and attendance. She assured us that they will find a way to ensure Catherine is present daily. Catherine was very happy for a second chance. She is still in the K-2 grade this year and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She continues to live with her mother.

Meet Catherine, who has been generously sponsored by Sandy Prestine. She is 6 years old and in is going to school for the first time this year in ABC. She lives in Beagonpa, Liberia with her mother. Since the divorce of Catherine’s parents, their mother has been unable to send the children to school. Her interests are singing and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.
