Angeline is 14 years old and a third-grade student at Zorgowee Public School in Nimba County. She has been sponsored by Girl Power Africa for four years. This year, she successfully passed her classes and was promoted to the third grade. She proudly shared that she can now write her name clearly, something she worked hard to improve.
Angeline lives with both of her parents, though her family situation has changed. Her father, who is a farmer, has moved away and is no longer supporting the household. This has placed added pressure on her mother to care for the children and provide for their needs. Angeline explained that GPA’s support with school fees and materials has helped her stay in school despite these challenges.
At home, Angeline helps with water collection, cooking, and cleaning. She feels happy to be back in school and is motivated by her mother to continue her education. Her goal for this school year is to study hard and work toward becoming a class secretary. She also hopes her education will help her settle family disagreements and become a better person.
Angeline shared that she appreciates GPA most for the school fees, which her mother cannot afford on her own. She said that since receiving support, things have gotten much better for her and her family. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and growing.
Girl Power Africa is proud of Angeline’s progress, her determination, and her positive spirit as she continues her educational journey. Sponsored by: Chanoa Tarle

Angeline has advanced to the second grade and excels in English, a subject her teacher praises her for. She reflects on how last year was good for her, as Girl Power Africa provided the school essentials her parents couldn’t otherwise afford. Both of her parents are farmers, making it challenging to cover educational costs, yet Angeline remains an active student who is thriving academically thanks to the support she receives through GPA. Thanks to the generous donation from Rita Eisenhauer, Angeline has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Angeline was kept in her current grade level of K-1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her aunt and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

Meet Angeline, who has been generously sponsored by an Anonymous donor (Mohamad). She is 8 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Zorgowee, Liberia with her aunt. Her father has 11 children and is disabled. He became disabled after a bad farming accident. Angeline’s aunt took her with the intention of sending her to school. But the aunt too has many children of her own and could not afford to send Angeline to school. Her interests are making people feel better and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.
