AMELIA: S247-BEA

2024

Amelia faced a difficult year, as the beloved grandmother she was living with passed away. This loss caused a significant setback for her, as she had to find a new family to live with. The transition was challenging, but Amelia’s resilience and determination to keep moving forward were truly remarkable. Despite these struggles, Amelia was promoted to the ninth grade this year. Her love for science continues to inspire her, and she remains an incredibly dedicated and hardworking student. Amelia’s teachers recognize her commitment to her studies and her ability to lead her peers. As a result, she was elected as the vice president of her class—a role she takes on with great pride and responsibility. Though the year brought many challenges, Amelia’s strength and perseverance shine through. She is not only excelling in her studies but also becoming a leader among her peers. Her future is full of promise, and we are so proud of her for how far she has come. Amelia’s journey is one of courage, leadership, and the power to overcome life’s obstacles. She is very helpful and assists her classmates when they need extra help. She still wants to be a teacher when she grows up and continues to live with her grandmother.  Sponsored by:  Pam Albi

Meet Amelia, who has been generously sponsored by an Anonymous Donor (CW). She is 14 years old and in the 3rd grade this year. Amelia lives in Beagonpa, Liberia with her grandmother. Her parents left her with her grandmother about 4 years ago to go search for an employment opportunity. However, since they left they have not been heard from. Her grandmother is unemployed and couldn’t afford to send her to school. Amelia’s interests are helping her grandmother and she hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
