AMELIA: S200-BOA

November

2024

Amelia was promoted to the sixth grade this year, and despite being six months pregnant, she is determined to continue her education. Amelia attended the distribution with a strong sense of determination to get her high school education, and we are incredibly proud of her. It’s not easy to be pregnant and attend school with her younger peers, but Amelia has shown remarkable resilience.. Sponsored by: D’Anna Freiberg

November

2023

Amelia has been promoted to the fifth grade, demonstrating exceptional performance throughout the year. Her report card, adorned with all blue marks, signifies outstanding achievement. In Liberia, where many parents are unable to read or write, colors such as blue and red serve as clear indicators: blue represents passing, while red signifies failing. Amelia’s pride in her all-blue report card is evident, reflecting her hard work and dedication.

Continuing to reside with her father, Amelia remains focused on her aspiration of becoming a doctor one day. Her determination and academic success serve as a testament to her commitment to realizing her dreams. Sponsored by: D’Anna Freiberg

Meet Amelia, who has been generously sponsored by Judy Bablitch. She is 12 years old and in the 1st grade this year. Amelia lives in Boapea, Liberia with her father. Amelia’s mother has 4 children and could not afford to send her to school. She was sent to her father to live, with the understanding that he was going to send Amelia to school. Unfortunately, he too is unemployed and couldn’t afford to send her to school. She hopes to be a police officer when she grows up.
