In spite of her best efforts, her enterprising mindset, Rita’s mother could not make enough to feed her children and send them to school.  Rita is nine years old and in kindergarten class.  Her father abandoned the family many years ago.  Rita wants to be a tailor one day and is thankful for the gift of a scholarship.
