January 2024: Partricial is a forty six year old woman living in a household with her aging husband and nine children.  Partricial’s story mirrors the fate of many women who were customarily dowered to an older man when she was in her mid-teen years.  This traditional practice sometimes backfires when the husband becomes too old to provide for his family.  Partricial was happy to receive an economic empowerment package to diversify her subsistence farming enterprise with the goal of earning greater profits.
