Marlyn, 14 years old, is in the first grade. She lives with her unemployed grandmother, who couldn’t afford to send her and her siblings to school regularly. Despite her late start, Maryln is a great student with a dream of becoming a teacher. At school, she works hard, listening attentively and excelling in her lessons. At home, she helps her grandmother by cooking for the family and taking care of her siblings. Life is challenging, but Marilyn’s determination keeps her going.
